A broadside produced to publicise the first issue of Verso, a magazine for the book as a work of art, which was launched by Chris Wallace-Crabbe at Collected Works Bookshop, Level 1, 37 Swanston Street, Melbourne. The main text of the quote by Matthew Carter appears between two red wood type printed hands, with pointing forefingers and raised thumbs, which effectively act as quotation marks. Hyperion is an elegant italic designed in the early 1930s by the German typographer and book designer Berthold Wolpe (1905-1989), who moved in England in 1935, and spent the early part of World War II interned in Australia. The printer, Sylvan Type Works, run by Nicholas Summers in Sydney, manufactures wooden type using traditional and modern methods and materials.
