- Summary:
-
"AAVAC is a Not-For-Profit independent association of avian veterinarians in Australia and New Zealand, linked to the Association of Avian Veterinarians in America (AAV). At a meeting of veterinarians interested in Caged and Aviary Bird Medicine and Surgery held on 30 April 1989, it was decided to form an Australian Avian Veterinary Association, and to investigate affiliation with AAV. In January 1990, the 'Association of Avian Veterinarians, Australian Committee' was formed. In 2008, the name was changed to 'AAV Australasian Committee', to incorporate New Zealand, and in October 2013 to AAVAC Ltd. Members include veterinarians from private practice, government, zoos, universities, and industry, as well as veterinary undergraduates."--The Company
