The volumes contain manuscript and typescript notes on the history of the Presbyterian Church in Australia, some correspondence (incl. a letter to J. A. Ferguson, 1924), clippings, and copies of Steele's articles "Our Presbyterian Church-Notes on her history." The articles, which contained biographical sketches of many of the Presbyterian Church's early ministers, were published in The Witness between 1915 and 1917.
