Annotation. Retired Detective, Callum Fitzgerald and his wife, June, are settled into the routine of the frequent use of their Montville retreat. This has led to the healing of the breach in their relationship caused by June's dalliance with Martin McIntyre. Callum, on June's suggestion is writing the history of his early life at Selwyn Creek in the Mary Valley. Their tranquil existence is interrupted by the reappearance of Martin and complications in their life resurface.
