The papers of Dorothy M. Catts, 1907-1960, contain correspondence with other Australian writers including Dame Mary Gilmore, and many items of personal and political interest concerning King O'Malley and his wife. Papers include general political papers and correspondence with politicians, i.a. W.M. Hughes, 1903-1922, correspondence and papers concerning United Progress Association and Political Labor League, trade unions (1903-1912), recruiting campaign (1915-1918) including correspondence with Hon. William Webster, Commonwealth Prices Adjustment Board (1916), No Conscription Campaign (1917), Walter Burley Griffin and early planning and building of Canberra (1920-1924).

J.H. Catts held a seat in the Federal Parliament as Labor member for Cook, N.S.W., from 1906 to 1922. With his wife, Dorothy M. Catts, he subsequently established the Australian Home budget and Home Budget Pattern Industries. She was the author of "King O'Malley: man and statesman" and "James Howard Catts" (biography).
