- First issue (suppressed) does not include the poem “Song Without Wine” printed on the first leaf. The more common second issue includes the poem, which was rejected by Stephens but which Neilson insisted be included. 350 copies were produced of the whole edition, including the special signed limited issue.

- One of National Library of Australia's MS copies has annotated typescripts of Neilson's poems tipped inside the covers, and has receipts signed by B. O'Dowd and B. Young tipped in the end papers.
- Another National Library of Australia's MS copy is inscribed by the author and is inscribed to R.C. Croll by A.G. Stevens.
- National Library of Australia's N copy is the first issue.
- National Library of Australia's NL copy is the second issue; inscribed in pencil, "Shaw Neilson was born in South Australia in 1872. By race he is all Scottish - His grandparents were William Neilson. Jessie McFarlane of Cupa."; also signed and inscribed by the author, Melbourne - 20/12/27.
- Another National Library of Australia's MS copy is inscribed to H.E. Boote from A.G. Stevens, & correspondence between them is tipped in the preliminary pages.

- Another National Library of Australia's MS copy is inscribed by the author, and has a letter to J.S. Neilson from A.G. Stevens tipped inside front cover.
- National Library of Australia's HHP 1504 copy inscribed: "To Miss Kathleen Clarke with all the good wishes of Shaw Neilson, Melbourne 19/7/37." is the first issue.
