Summary:

Collection includes photographs of the Martin sisters at home with their family and friends and on holidays in Victoria and Tasmania; an autographed photograph of the sculptor Ola Cohn; several photographs of Russian ballet dancer and choreographer Igor Schwezoff during his time in Australia; Florence Martin's progress following her accident and subsequent paraplegia, and a drawing of a sea bird by Florence.

Biography/History:

Australian sisters Florence Beresford Martin and Kathleen Martin collaborated on art and theatre design projects. Florence, a painter and theatrical designer, worked in theatre in Melbourne, New York and London with her sister Kathleen, despite suffering paraplegia from a car accident.
