"David Moses Martin was born in Marble Bar, and raised by his grandmother and grandfather. By age 11 he was working as a stockman for an abusive boss. He worked many different stations because he enjoyed the bush life. At 35 he started going blind. He considered giving up and drinking till the end, but as a father he felt he needed to do what was best for his daughter, and with the help of his faith, he stayed sober and independent."--Information supplied by photographer.
