- Manuscript map of the Indonesian island of Java prepared by by the pioneer naturalist of Indonesia, Dr Thomas Horsfield (1773-1859), to record the details of his extensive travels through the island between 1811 and 1816. The map records all the principal villages and towns in the island, during the time of the British East India Company, which during the Napoleonic Wars usurped the then French controlled Dutch East Indies, in 1811. Relief shown by hachures, and soundings.
- On the eastern portion of map has annotations, and map borders are coloured in pink, yellow, green, and blue.
- Oriented with north to the bottom.
