- Biography/History:

In 1835 Macintyre entered into a partnership with Arthur Willis of London to form a commission and agency business in Sydney. He emigrated to Australia in 1835-6. Willis, Macintyre & Co. was dissolved in 1837 and Macintyre subsequently travelled in Australia researching its history and geography. Returned to England 1840 and made a brief visit to Australia in 1853.
