The collection comprises papers relating to Cracknell's public persona as an actor, with very little relating to her personal life. There are scripts, programs and photographs of many of the productions in which she appeared, together with newspaper cuttings and printed material containing reviews of shows or interviews with Cracknell. Correspondence comprises a large number of congratulatory letters, notes, cards and telegrams, mostly from the public, but some from other performers and friends. There is a small amount of general business correspondence.
Cracknell was a board member of the Sydney Theatre Company from 1980 to 1995. There are minutes of meetings, budgets, financial reports, reviews of productions, general correspondence and annual reports of the Company.
