Annotation. 'Have Colourful Dreams, Sir' is a contemporary dramatic reflection of the quality and characteristics of Persian classic lyricism. This play draws upon the content and structure of a Lyrical Poem in literature from the 13th-14th century. It is essentially a play about love, but love in an eastern sense which differs from western notions of love. The philosophy of eastern love is to withstand the pain of separation and to surrender everything to the beloved, even life. Our story begins on an island where mystics, lovers, and magic mix to tell a tragic tale. This play won 1st prize at the Fajr International Theatre Festival and will be sure to delight and bring a tear to your eye.
