Research which traces the histories of over two hundered women sentenced to transportation to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) at the High Court in Perth, Scotland. The women were sentenced to periods ranging from seven years penal sevitude to life imprisonment. For all but two of these women the sentence meant a life spent in exile from Scotland.
