- Summary:
-
"This report acts as a supplement to the final project report. It identifies vibrations as having a significant impact on drill bit life, and reaffirms a number of conclusions from the final project report. Results presented are primarily based on the high speed head drill rig located at Boart Longyear, Adelaide. In addition, an improved drill bit wear model for cleaning issues is presented, and, as a result, this report readdresses the question of whether cleaning or frictional heating played the most significant role in section 4.2 of the final project report" -- Executive summary.
