- Summary:
-
"The Canberra Region Languages Forum was formed in October 2007 to facilitate discussion among the many stakeholders in Canberra and the surrounding region who are interested in promoting languages and language learning. The major goal of the forum is to share information and ideas in order to build on local resources and strengths to improve languages education in the ACT region. Members of the forum include lecturers and tutors from university and TAFE level, teachers from mainstream schools and community language schools, early childhood education providers, parents, language students, community members, embassy personnel, local politicians, ethnic broadcasters, and service providers, particularly those working with Canberra residents from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and new arrivals and refugees."
