- Inscriptions: "Australian Refuge for Homeless Women. Elsie Women's Refuge in the Sydney suburb of Glebe provides shelter for women fleeing violent or intolerable domestic situations. It was established last year when a group from Sydney Women's Liberation occupied two vacant semi-detached houses. The Australian Government later bought the houses on behalf of the refuge and left the administraion in the hands of a women's collective. Elsie gives homeless women free accomodation while they assess their choices and find legal or medical help, accommodation or a job."--Printed on reverse.
