- Summary:
-
In 1929 Henry Ford began the construction of Fordlandia, his idealised vision of industrial production - intended to be part rubber factory, part American-suburbia. However, neither the Amazonian environment or it's people were very welcoming; Fordlandia lasted the better part of a year before both environment and worker revolted. Tyres, 2012-2016 is both a survey of Jacob Raupach's photographic investigations into the sculptural qualities of the tyre and an attempt at drawing connections between disparate economic and material spaces.
