- Summary:
-
"The Subordinate Legislation Act 1992 (SLA) provides that the making of regulations that impose a significant cost, burden or disadvantage on any sector of the public, requires the preparation of a Regulatory Impact Statement (RIS). The Animal Welfare (Pigs) Amendment Regulations 2013 (refer to Annexure 1) have been assessed as falling within that "significant" category as they will impose restrictions on the production system that may be used by pork producers. This RIS will form the basis of consultation with major stakeholders and the broader Tasmanian community"--Purpose.
