- The Regulator established the Reliability and Network Planning Panel (RNPP) under the Tasmanian Electricity Code (Code). Following Tasmania's entry into the National Electricity Market, the roles and functions of the RNPP under the Code diminished significantly, with the RNPP wound up in December 2009. The RNPP made a valuable contribution to the electricity supply industry over the past ten years. The Reliability Review is now undertaken by the Regulator, as set out in clause 12.6 of the Code. In late 2008 the Office of the Tasmanian Energy Regulator and the Government Prices Oversight Commission were re-badged as the Office of the Tasmanian Economic Regulator.
