- Summary:
-
Elsie and Lillian live in their past of memories and in their present of difficult cohabitation. Two aged sisters enmeshed in a dependence which both abhor and yet from which they are unable to extricate themselves. It is loneliness which forces them into each other's company, despite themselves. Their lives begin in the early years of the twentieth century, the emancipated females of the nineteen thirties - it is there that the parallel ends.
