Patricia Vivian-Lall was born in Manchester and began her professional career at the age of 12 as a singer in working men's clubs in the North of England. The role of Eliza in My Fair Lady lured her to Melbourne in 1962, where she decided to stay, married, had four daughters, and continued a career in the theatre, opera and television. Her book, Ozzie-Pozzie's Rhymes for Aussie Kids (2005), originally composed to amuse her children while touring the highways of Australia with various theatrical productions, incorporates Australian place-names into rhymes and other word play. This script for a musical production, For the Boys Over There, may reprise (on a broader stage and in a more concentrated time period) some of the material from Our Gracie, a two part musical drama inspired by Gracie Fields' rise from humble beginnings in Rochdale, England. Our Gracie, staring Patricia Vivian-Lall, was presented at the Clocktower Centre, Moonee Ponds, from 23 April 1992.
