- Summary:
-
An adventure story set in Northwest Western Australia in the 1880s. Apparently reproduced from the periodical Italia Reale-Corriere Nazionale, the novel purports to be based on the experiences of young man from Turin, but we can find no information about the author. Place names in Western Australia mentioned include Cape Cuvier, Cape Talbot, Barrow Island, Montebello Islands, Rosily Islands, Thevenard Island, the Gascoyne River, and Edels Land, where the protagonist is rescued at a mission station run by a French Catholic priest. Palmerston and Port Darwin in the Northern Territory also feature in the story. —Douglas Stewart Fine Books, January 2020.
