John Flynn (1880-1951) a Presbyterian Minister was appointed in 1912 by the General Assembly of Australia (Presbyterian Church) as the first Superintendent to the soon to be established Australian Inland Mission.The Mission was to attend to the spititual and medical needs of indigenious & non-indigenious people living in outback N.T, W.A., S.A & Qld.In 1977 the Australian Inland Mission changed its name to become the Uniting Church in Australia Frontier Services.
