Correspondence from Professor Nevill Coghill, Chaucerian and theatre producer (from 1967 until his death in 1980), his daughter Carol Martin and sister Katharine, and Marjorie Barnard. Also includes typescripts of Lyn Brown's unpublished works "A chuckle in the darkness" and "Double encounter".

Lyn Brown has had poetry published in various magazines, and has been a poetry reviewer and member of the ASA (Australian Society of Authors). She has worked as a language teacher and at CSIRO where she met the writer Marjorie Barnard. She started corresponding with Nevill Coghill because of a possible shared ancestry as well as a shared interest in C. S. Lewis, who had inspired her to renew her religious faith.
