- Summary:
-
The Queensland Government has an election commitment to review crocodile management arrangements in North Queensland. As part of this review, a new crocodile population survey program has been established to ensure that decision-making on how to balance human safety and crocodile protection can be based on sound knowledge of crocodile populations and movements. A key component of the review is consultation with key stakeholders and the broader community on crocodile management to examine the effectiveness of existing programs and to determine how they can be improved. This report describes the consultation process used, the results of the consultation activities and outlines the next steps in the review process.
