- Summary:
-
Poster promoting Australia as a tourist destination, featuring four male black stick figure Aboriginal dancers arranged diagonally across an ochre background with a black border. The men, in an identical ceremonial dance pose but with different body decoration markings, are all holding boomerangs and wearing long ceremonial headdresses with tassels at both the base and tip. The word "corroborree" appears in stylish angular block lettering at the top right, with "Australia" in the same but slightly larger letters on the bottom right. While most of the letters have conventional vertical strokes, the letters 'C' and 'O' and the bowls of the 'B' and 'R' have an acute diagonal slant, and the cross stroke of the 'A' takes the form of a 'v' which touches the baseline. The artist's signature, "Sellheim," appears in the bottom left hand corner. In the lower left is the logo of the ANTA, a kangaroo in a roundel placed above a rectangle with text which gives its Melbourne, London, San Francisco, Wellington, and Toronto addresses.
