- Summary:
-
Digital literacy is a foundation literacy (aligned with reading, writing and arithmetic). The objective of this Fellowship was to lead change by developing a digital literacy benchmark for students entering and graduating from Australian higher education, and to build a shared understanding that provides the foundation for developing a digital literacy framework. The framework informs capacity building of students, through curricula, and capability development of staff. This work was undertaken in the context of Industry 4.0, where work and learning environments are digitally disrupted and digitally enhanced, and where there is a (mis)understanding that since our students are digitally connected they must be digitally literate.
