A family history which includes the arrival of members of the Dillane family (the name was changed to Dillon once they arrived in Australia), transported as convicts from Ireland to Tasmania, and eventually making a home in Port Cygnet; the Thorp family who worked on the Fernlands estate of Lady Franklin after being sent out as paupers; the Lloyd family and the development of the timber trade between Tasmania and Victoria; master mariner Henry William Lloyd (Harry), his son Arthur James Lloyd and the sinking of the SS Orion in 1908; the life of Sarah Ann Thorp/Lloyd/Shearing/Davies in Hobart up until approximately 1930; and grandson Harry Shearing and wife Viv.
