The Lake War Memorials Forum was comprised of historians, scholars, former Directors of the Australian War Memorial and other concerned parties, who conducted a successful campaign to stop proposed World Wars I and II Memorials on the Rond Terrace on the foreshores of Lake Burley Griffin. The collection includes National Capital Authority files, Canberra National Memorials Committee meetings and minutes and Lake War Memorial Forum submissions to the Parliamentary Joint Standing Committee on the National Capital and External Territories.

The Lake War Memorials Forum (LWMF) was created in response to the proposed World Wars I and II Memorials on the Rond Terrace on the foreshores of Lake Burley Griffin.
