Annotation. The research report explores the experiences of Aboriginal people with post-release parole supervision and reintegration in NSW after leaving prison. The research focuses on identifying the qualities of the relationship between parole supervisors and Aboriginal people on parole that successfully assist individuals with reintegration and those aspects that require improvement. The evaluation has reviewed the relevant literature and has used qualitative methods by way of 32 in-depth interviews with Aboriginal parolees, Community Corrections Officers and Aboriginal Client Services Officers employed by Corrective Services NSW in six community corrections offices and three prisons. Based on the research, we have made a number of recommendations aimed at improving the supervision process.
