In the 1970s Lesley McGrath-Woodley was the inaugural schools and camps worker for Unión Bíblica (Scripture Union) in Peru. About two hundred children were involved in school and camp activities there when she returned to Australia in 1981 with a sense of abject failure. In 2006 Lesley was invited to speak at a Unión Bíblica conference in Lima, Peru. She was astonished by what she saw. She discovered that the young people she had mentored had continued the work in accordance with her training, and that under God it had exploded. Thirty-two thousand students were now involved with Unión Bíblica every week, spread out across twenty of Peru's twenty-four provinces and into neighbouring countries. This book of her recollections and reflections reassures us that when we are committed to serving God wholeheartedly, he works in extraordinary ways, in spite of our weaknesses and failings.
