Seven poets living in the Cobargo, Bermagui, Bega area on the Far South Coast of New South Wales have created a beautifully-produced anthology of their work featuring poems of deep sincerity and insightful observations of a changing environment and a challenging world. These are poems of transitions, survival and joy by Sandra Taylor, Leigh Crowe, Glenda-Mai Morgan, Peter Storey, Kate Taylor, Kai Jensen and Linda Albertson. The anthology features artwork by Glenda-Mai and Peter which offers readers an interplay between words on the page and visual stimulation. The poets are members of the Well Thumbed Poets group based at Well Thumbed Books in Cobargo. The bookshop used to be a bakery and the old oven still exists, now wedged between crime novels in a back room. For the last few years, several poets have been drawn to this back room, they've settled around a long wooden table where their musings, experiences and inspirations have blended in a unique collection of poems titled Chasing the line : an anthology from the back room.
