Evaluating sea ice in ACCESS-S2 / Xiaobing Zhou and Oscar Aves

"ACCESS-S2 is the successor of ACCESS-S1 that is the current operational seasonal forecast system in the Australian Bureau of Meteorology. It can provide daily, multi-week and seasonal predictions for atmosphere, ocean, sea ice and land. ACCESS-S2 applies a coupled data assimilation for the ocean and atmospheric components in a climate model to generate initial conditions for predictions. However, sea ice observed data have not been assimilated into the model.
