"Don't hang around Leah, she's the Germinator." Leah Norton had never really fit in. She was big, awkward and worst of all, she was lonely. The only things that made St. James' School, Roseville, at all bearable, were the books in the library and imagining she was outside, staring up at the clouds. That all changes, when Leah stands up for the new boy, Rui de Leon and stops him being bullied. Becoming friends with Rui and starting to play soccer together, gives Leah more things to look forward to. But, it also makes her realise just how difficult it is to be a friend, when you have never had to do so before.
