But disaster strikes when her mother's Ruby Trident is stolen and the Queens' Pearls turn black. Someone has declared war on the merfolk. Meera is sure she can catch the culprit, but just when she thinks she's getting somewhere, she's captured by sharks and uncovers a gigantic plot to steal the power of the ocean out from under the merfolk's very noses.
