The MS Acc18.091 comprises volumes of poetry, note and recipe books, correspondence to and from Chris Woodland and some miscellaneous papers and music. It includes a catalogue of films made by John Meredith and a small number of photographs. (1 ms box)
The MS Acc22.170 consignment comprises material from the Wild Colonial Days Society (WCDS). There are issues of the WCDS NSW Branch Journal (August 1967 - August 1968) and the 'Fossiker' (March - August 1968). Papers include correspondence (bound), an address book, questionnaire and membership forms, the Society's revised constitution, a members re-enactment report and note books with the handwritten meeting minutes. Newspaper clippings (some photocopied), photographs and ephemera highlight the Society's activities, centenary events and historical re-enactments of The Capture of the Clarke Brothers, The Cobb and Co. run, The Shooting of Johnny Gilbert, The Bargo Bush murder, the Ben Hall gang and the shooting of Constable Nelson. There are numerous tickets and programmes to balls, dances and concerts, along with flyers, a felt banner and typed film scripts, including one titled 'HMS The Branch of Justice'. Folklore collector, oral historian and musician, Chris Woodland was born in Australia of English and Irish lineage. He was an early member of the Bush Music Club in the 1950's and then co-founder of the Wild Colonial Days Society in the 1960's.
