Photographs of Kenneth Slessor in this series range in date from 1901 to 1970. There are also photographs of members of his family, including his parents, his brother Robin, his sister Maud, his first wife Noela, his second wife Pauline, and his son Paul. Among the subjects of other photographs are journalists and writers, including Harley Matthews, Oliver Hoque and Ronald McCuaig. Two negative albums belonging to Noela Slessor contain negatives and prints of photographs taken in London and England in 1940, and in Greece and the Middle East in 1941-1942. Photographs documenting Slessor's period as Official War Correspondent during World War II can be found in Series 14.

Immediate source of acquisition:
The papers of the poet and journalist Kenneth Slessor were offered to the National Library by his brother Robin Slessor, executor of the will, after his death in 1971. The National Library purchased the papers in 1972. Eight additional consignments of papers received by the Library between 1979 and 2000 were variously purchased from Robin Slessor, Paul Slessor and Peter Elder.
