Some of the individuals covered in the photographs include Martha Graham, Anna Pavlova, Margot Fonteyn and Rudolph Nureyev. The collection also contains two literary manuscripts, a typescript essay Valley of the Kangaroos by Victor Carell and handwritten notes and a typesript draft by Dean for a book titled Laura's Story (biography of Dean's grandmother).
