- Biographical Note:

Federal Politician. Liberal Member for Darling Downs 1949-1972. Swartz's senior posts included Commonwealth Parliamentary Secretary for Trade (1956-1961) and Minister for Civil Aviation (1966-1969).
He led Trade Missions to India (1956) and South East Asia (1958) and was a member of a Parliamentary Delegation to South East Asia (1966).
