Content Summary:
The research material in this series was accumulated by Molony and covers a range of topics. It includes a large group of papers relating to a project entitled The Colony of "Australia" and to Charles Gavan Duffy, Premier of Victoria, who also published a biography of Thomas Davis in 1894. These papers include photocopies of government records, newspaper cuttings, photocopies of correspondence between Duffy and Parkes regarding Federation and a letter from Duffy's grandson to Molony regarding his research (1984).
Immediate source of acquisition:
The bulk of the papers were acquired from John Molony in 1998, under the Taxation Incentives for the Arts Scheme (TIAS). Three earlier small consignments were received from Molony - two donated in 1981 and 1985 and one acquired under the TIAS in 1989.
