Two operas are referenced throughout this collection in various formats and stages along with their research material with subject matter that focuses on Australian First Nations peoples and includes references to specific places, stories, peoples, and languages. "Black River" (both the opera and film) contains distressing themes including Indigenous deaths in police custody and racial prejudice against Indigenous people. "Journey to Horseshoe Bend" contains Indigenous Cultural and Intellectual Property (ICIP) of the Ntaria community including Arrernte/Aranda Language and the Pitjantjatjara language, as well as stories and places of significance to the Aranda people.
