- The collection comprises typescripts with annotations, revised manuscripts, corrected proofs, final proofs, and blueprints of four of Diane Fahey's published collections. They are Voices from the honeycomb (1986), Metamorphoses (1988), Turning the hourglass (1990) and Mayflies in amber (1993). The manuscripts are all in typescript form and there is often little variation from the published text.

The poet Diane Fahey was born in 1945 and educated in Melbourne. After spending a number of years overseas she returned to live in South Australia in 1986. Her poetry has been published in both Australian and overseas literary journals and anthologies, and Australian newspapers. Five collections of her works have been published.
She has been the recipient of several awards and prizes. They include the Mattara Poetry Prize (1985), the Caltex Bendigo Advertiser Manuscript Award (1986), the Wesley Michael Wright Prize (1987), the John Shaw Neilson Poetry Prize (1988), and a South Australian Department of Arts Grant (1991).
