The papers of MS 6641 document various aspects of Professor Arndt's career, including his work for Quadrant, his academic career, during which he published numerous works, and his extensive involvement with Asian economic development. Included in the papers are correspondence, working papers, unpublished papers by other people, lecture notes, papers relating to a number of Arndt's publications, conference and seminar papers. There are also notes and papers on various bodies such as the United Nations Asian Institute for Economic Development and Planning, Australian and New Zealand Association for the Advancement of Science (ANZAAS), Economic Meetings of the Commonwealth Bank and the United Nations Institute of Training and Research (UNITAR). Correspondents include Robert Pullman, C.R. Kemp, Peter Coleman, David Clark, Anthony R. Michaelis, Sir Leslie Melville, Diana McDonald, David Armstrong, D.H. Penny and Cambridge University Press (257 boxes).
Immediate source of acquisition:
The first instalment of papers was donated by Professor Arndt under the Taxation Incentives for the Arts Scheme in 1981. Further consignments were donated by Professor Arndt in two instalments, in February 1988 and in May 1993.
