The material filmed by the Australian Joint Copying Project includes: Letters 1861-68 of Rev. George Vessey of Melbourne to his family referring to opening of Baptist Chapel in Collins Street, church services, the distribution of tracts, and the 1865 constitutional crisis; Diary 1869 of Leonard Vessey 1847-80 kept on voyage to Australia on the Canaan; Letters 1869-79 of Leonard Vessey to his parents describing his voyage to Australia, impressions of Sydney, Hill End and Bathurst, roads in Blue Mountains, New South Wales politics, and his work as a surveyor in Southern Tablelands and South Coast of New South Wales; Photographs of Leonard Vessey and surveyors at Hill End 1872.
