Biographical / Historical:

Sir William Henry Beveridge (1879-1963), 1st Baron Beveridge (created 1945). Director, London School of Economics 1919-37, Master of University College, Oxford 1937-44. Liberal MP 1944-45. Author of many works including Full Employment in a Free Society (1944).
