Content Summary:

Records 1971-80 of the '96 Group relating to the painter John A. Gillfillan (1793-1864) who settled in New Zealand and Australia. Correspondents include Flora Spurdle, W.R. Long, Douglas Pike and N.B. Nairn.

Papers 1972-78 of Louis McGougan including reports on higher education in Indonesia.

Papers 1892-1932 of Sir Patrick Geddes referring to agriculture in Australia, the depression in New Zealand, Scottish migrants in New Zealand, teachers' training in New South Wales, and A.C. Haddon's plans for field work in Torres Strait and New Guinea.

Diary 1856 kept at Ballarat gold diggings and on voyage back to England on the James Baines, together with correspondence and notes 1971-75.

Papers 1948-59 of town planner Sir George Pepler. Subjects include: Australian Planning Institute; Town Planning Institute in New Zealand; amalgamation of planning institutions in Australia; visit of James Fraser to Australia; and rebuilding of villages in North Borneo.
