A researcher's collection of activist publications and ephemera on the Indonesian invasion of Timor and suppport by Australian activists for East Timor's independence.The ephemera collection contains flyers, books (some photocopied), brochures, pamphlets, posters, theatre programs, stickers and badges. Most were produced between 1974 and 1979 by Australian advocates for an independent East Timor with the majority produced after the Indonesian invasion in December 1975.

The collection consists of Dr Johnson's personal research papers, photographs and slides relating to scientific and historical studies of the active volcanoes of Papua New Guinea from 1969 to 2016. The papers consist of letters, notes, reports, and maps, together with colour and black-and white prints, negatives, colour transparencies (both 35 mm and 60 mm), 35 mm lecture slides and some CDs (which comprise copies of some items from the collection). The collection also documents the work of other volcanologists including Dr N.H. Fisher, G.A.M. Taylor, M.A. Reynolds, R.J.S. Cooke and Dr Takashi Kizawa.

This collection features correspondence, financial records, ledgers, station diaries, family history research, printed material and ephemera dating from 1796 to the early 1960s. This material provides a record of the pioneering Whittakers family and farming life on various stations in New South Wales and Victoria. The papers also include Clyde Whittakers' correspondence and notes relating to his research, most of which contributed to his work The Whittakers Story, which was first published in 2021.

The majority of maps in the collection are of Antarctica, with a lesser number of Canada, New York, Arctic regions, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and England. The maps were created or collected by Griffith Taylor. Some are by, or based on the work of, colleagues and mentors including Thomas G. Bonney, John K. Davis, Nelson, Frank Debenham, T.W.E. David, John Murray, Erich von Drygalski, Douglas Mawson, G. Philip, G.C. Simpson, Hardy and W.H. Hobbs. There is one map of Antarctica published by the National Geographic Magazine, and three of the Ontario region published by Canadian government agencies.

Branch, 1912, the General President's Weekly Expenditure Books for 1925 and 1926, a Register of Members for 1929, articles on court cases, minutes of meetings in 1925 and 1929, and papers on the industrial dispute at Innisfail in 1922; a few papers on the Australian Seamen's Union, including a draft constitution and rules; correspondence dating from 1906 containing union and personal letters; roneod and printed items such as The Voice of the People and The People Guild bulletins and International Anti-Communist Entente literature; and photographs relating to the feminist movement in Great Britain.
