This collection relates to Tsebin Tchen's campaign for election as a Victorian Member of Parliament, his involvement with various Chinese community organisations, and his participation in the Chinese Australian Federation Conferences, 1986-1990. It includes personal diaries, newspaper cuttings, printed material and colour photographs of various parliamentarians.

The collection comprises photographic prints, negatives, publications and ephemera documenting the political, cultural and social life of Melbourne in the mid 1990s, with a focus on marginal groups and protest movements. These groups and movements include: biker groups; Vietnam Veterans, conflict between anti-immigration and anti-racism groups, and the female ordination movement. These photographs were taken while Janet Hawkins was completing four years of study at Photography Studies College in Melbourne.

The Lake War Memorials Forum was comprised of historians, scholars, former Directors of the Australian War Memorial and other concerned parties, who conducted a successful campaign to stop proposed World Wars I and II Memorials on the Rond Terrace on the foreshores of Lake Burley Griffin. The collection includes National Capital Authority files, Canberra National Memorials Committee meetings and minutes and Lake War Memorial Forum submissions to the Parliamentary Joint Standing Committee on the National Capital and External Territories.

This collection features medals and certificates awarded to Dr Evelyn Ruth Scott, together with congratulatory letters and cards. Medals and awards include include a Silver Jubilee Medal from Queen Elizabeth II in 1977, the Centenary Medal in 2001, the Order of Australia in 2003 and a Queensland Greats Medal in 2003. These were awarded for Dr Scott's efforts and achievements in improving access to legal, housing, employment and medical services for Indigenous communities.

Includes: personal files; files on individuals and relations with China and Korea; 3 scrap books 1972-75; speeches, photographs and printed items on Australian-Maltese relations; correspondence relating to Forace's diplomatic appointments as Malta's Ambassador to China and various Arab countries including Algeria, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Iraq; photographs and documentation of official visits; briefing notes; immigration documents; and notes relating to Forace's funeral and eulogy.

MS 6669 comprises a small collection of letters and photographs relating to Miss Pharo's services to Lady Munro-Ferguson: Letters from Lady Munro Ferguson, Captain the Hon Bede Clifford later Earl of Chudleigh and others to Miss Pharo for the period 1900 to 1921. Most of these acknowledgements for Miss Pharo's services and farewell notes on Miss Pharo's departure from Government House. There is also a small group of subject files of copies of "out letters" from the Governor General's office. These consist of official letters to various organizations: The Society for Welfare of Mothers and Babies; The Friendly Union of Soldiers' Wives; The Imperial War Relief Fund and the soldiers' Welfare Committee. The photographs in this collection are of Lady Munro Ferguson, Captain Clifford and Miss Pharo.

Abstract Or Scope
The papers consist of reference papers relating to naval history and public administration, particularly in the Commonwealth Public Service, and papers relating to his published books. A list of classifications used, a summary title of each item, and index cards in two sequences of subjects, and people and ships, ensure easy access to the papers. Research correspondence and correspondence with publishers, and copies of Hyslop's six published books, are also included. Papers that relate specifically to the researching of four of Hyslop's books (Boxes 21-22) include research correspondence and correspondence with publishers. Correspondents include the Chief Archivist, Keith Penny, Warren Perry, Robert S. Parker, John Ware and Geoff Burrows. Box 23 comprises correspondence between Hyslop and Warren Perry, documents relating to South East Asia Treaty Organization (SEATO), the Royal Commission on Human Relationships (Hyslop was official secretary to the commission, working with commissioners Anne Deveson, Elizabeth Evatt, and Felix Arnott), correspondence and programmes relating to the Eastern Regional Organization for Public Administration (EROPA). Papers relating to the Department of the Navy and a Naval Board minute book from 1905 to 1939 are included.
