Logbook kept by Smith during the voyage of the Clyde from Kingston, Ireland to Sydney, New South Wales. It describes the living conditions of the 235 male convicts, his treatment of their illnesses and the arrival of the ship at Port Jackson. In the front of the volume are 8 loose items of personal documents and correspondence relating to John Smith.

Logbook 24 May 1850-8 March 1852 recording the ship's voyage from Liverpool to China. The entries record daily routine aboard, weather observations, the navigational course of the ship, and behaviour of the crew, including desertions. Most of the crew were discharged at Port Jackson and new hands hired.

For the most part the logs contain bare observations on the weather, rigging and position of the ship, but expands into more detailed description for the time spent in the Straits of Magellan and again at King George Island (i.e. Tahiti). MS log of the voyage of H.M.S. Dolphin to the South Seas, 1766-1768, under Captain Samuel Wallis. This log, kept by John Gore, Master's Mate, covers 21 Aug 1766-16 Oct 1767. Signed 'Jno. Gore, Master Hunter(?)' MS, 2 vols.

Lily Payling was a well known Australian contralto who won fame in the concert halls of England and Europe. According to some newspaper reports of her death, the Payling subscription concerts at the Royal Albert Hall were a highlight of the musical year during the 1920s and 1930s.
