MS 6428 comprises manuscripts and typescripts of novels, plays, short stories and articles and extensive correspondence. Works among the manuscripts include Bring larks and heroes, Confederates, The cut-rate kingdom, Halloran's little boat, Ned Kelly and the city of bees, Passenger, Season in purgatory, The survivor, A victim of the Aurora, "Bligh", and "Burke and Wills". A large proportion of the correspondence is with publishers, literary agents and editors including Philip Ziegler, Tessa Sayle, James Moad, Thomas Stewart, Peter Grose, Donald Horne, Peter Cross, W.R. Robert Helpmann's extensive career started with ballet, acting from 1930, and he then emerged as a company choreographer in 1942. He also directed and produced, and worked in opera, film, and musical theatre.Helpmann's career in Australia with the Australian Ballet, other Australian companies, and in the Old Vic. Co. tour of Australia in 1955 are not included: Material relating to these productions are located under the respective names of the companies he worked with. (For instance, programs relating to Helpmann's Australian and New Zealand tours of Nude with violin are located within the separate J.C. Williamson General files of the PROMPT Collection.)

The list will be updated as the Library's gaps for this artist are filled.The holdings consist primarily of Magazine programs with a few separately published "Souvenir programs". In some instances information is gleaned from advertisements in them. This does not prove that the repertoire was performed as program changes did occur however it gives an idea of what was planned. All other sources are clearly indicated, eg, flyers. Printed materials in the PROMPT collection include programs and printed ephemera such as brochures, leaflets, tickets, etc. Theatre programs are taken as the prime documentary evidence of a performance. The list is based on imperfect holdings, and is updated as gaps in the Library's holdings are filled. Unless otherwise stated, all entries are based on published programs in the PROMPT collection.

The list is primarily based on material in the National Library of Australia's PROMPT collection. Where there are gaps in the PROMPT holdings, the list has been supplemented by an indication of material in the National Gallery of Australia's Research Library. The Research Library holds Helene Kirsova's extensive personal archive including stage and costume designs, photographs and letters as well as published materials. In a couple of rare cases where no programs are held in either institution, newspaper clippings in the NGA Kirsova Archive have been quoted as evidence of performances.

The National Aboriginal Islander Skills Development Association (NAISDA) Dance College was established in 1975 to train Indigenous Australians in dance. It is based in Gosford on the Central Coast of New South Wales, and is a registered training organisation and offers Certificates II, III and IV and a Diploma in Careers in Dance. Graduates have worked in the performing arts: arts management, dance, music, theatre and film, both at the elite and community level. The Bangarra Dance Theatre developed from NAISDA, and the College was the subject of an ABC TV documentary From Dreamtime to Dance broadcast in 2002. The Inglis Moore Papers document his interest and involvement in the promotion, study and teaching of Australian literature as a critic, academic and administrator. The correspondence reveals his extensive network of contacts in the field. These included almost all of the prominent Australian writers and critics of the period 1940-65. This correspondence, together with Inglis Moore's teaching and research files, drafts of his critical and creative writings, and papers documenting his involvement with the Commonwealth Literary Fund, the Australian Society of Authors and the Fellowship of Australian Writers, constitute one of the National Library's finest literary collections.

Some of the correspondents are Edward and Honor Smith, Errol Peisby, Tom and Else Gleghorn, Lloyd Rees, Patrick White, Pam Bell and Desiderius Orban and Alister Kershaw. 2. Diaries and notebooks, 1948, 1958-1987. Diaries kept during Gleeson's travels. Notebooks that contain drafts of his writings. 3. Manuscripts: drafts, typescripts and working notes of writings, including Master pieces of Australian paintings (1969), William Dobell (1964) and Robert Klippel (1983). 4. Australian National Gallery, 1973-1982: reports, financial statements, some correspondence and minutes of meetings. 5. William Dobell Art Foundation, 1975-1979: correspondence, reports, photographs and minutes of meetings. 6. Visual Art Board, 1974-1976: minutes of meetings, grant applications and reports. 7. Commonwealth Art Advisory Board, 1972-1973: minutes, financial papers, reports and some correspondence. 8. A bound volume of original artworks and collages created by James Gleeson in 2000 when his life-long partner, Frank O'Keefe, was seriously ill in hospital. Gleeson presented the volume to O'Keefe on his recovery (47 boxes, 1 fol. boxes, 2 phase boxes).The Acc09.018 instalment consists of papers accumulated by Gleeson during the course of his long life and career. Over half of this instalment comprises photographic material, which includes images of Gleeson's works in a variety of mediums, photographs from his numerous trips overseas and a small group of family photographs. The remainder of the instalment comprises correspondence; diaries; papers relating to Gleeson's involvement with the Dobell Foundation; cuttings from newspapers and magazines; and a small group of invoices and receipts. There are a number of notebooks and binders containing Gleeson's notes for books, articles and lectures (62 boxes, 1 folio).The Acc09.201 instalment largely comprises photographic material of images of Gleeson's works in a variety of mediums. In addition, there are travel photographs and a small group of photographs of the O'Keefe family. The remainder of the instalment consists of correspondence, a folder of collage cutouts and Gleeson's palette (15 boxes, 6 fol. boxes, 1 map folio, 1 os phase box).The Acc16.019 consignment comprises a scrapbook of James Gleeson containing colour photographs of Gleeson's artwork series Odysseus, Apollo, Cadmus, Pelops, Perseus, Bellerophon, Theseus, Orion, Arion and Hercules. Details of galleries and dates of exhibitions are noted alongside most photographs. This addition also includes five typed poems of Li-Tai-Po, an 8th century Chinese poet.

Correspondents include early statisticians and economists, such as J. B. (James Bristock) Brigden and L. F. (Lyndhurst Falkiner) Giblin, aviators such as Sir Hudson Fysh, and federal ministers and prime ministers such as R. G. Menzies and Harold Holt. Some material relates to issues surrounding the governance and management of the Commonwealth Bank and Qantas when Wilson was member and Chairman of the boards of those enterprises.

The Anne Summers Women's Collection (ASWC) comprises of 796 books collected since the 1960s. This material is a unique record of the intellectual development of feminists engaging with transnational intellectual networks and social history of those times, including the impact of feminism on shaping social policy in Australia. The majority of materials in this collection are books published by various publishers including a number of government publications. The content covers a wide range of topics including women's rights, women's history, biographies, women and business, women in politics, sex roles, diversity, parenting, affirmative action for women, women and the media etc. There are also a small number of flyers, pamphlets, journal articles and speeches included in this collection. Most of of the volumes in this collection have handwritten annotations by Anne Summers. The collection also includes wide-ranging accompanying materials originally inserted into individual volumes, such as postcards, bookmarks, post-it notes, newspaper cuttings, press releases, invitations, letters, etc.

The collection comprises a lifetime's accumulation of papers by Hilda Rix Nicholas. The bulk of the papers comprise correspondence. There is a large series of letters written by Nicholas over a long period to her son, Rix Wright, and to her close friend, Dorothy Richmond. They are enhanced by the inclusion in the collection of many of the letters that they wrote to her. There is correspondence with a number of friends and acquaintances and business correspondence relating to Nicholas' career and to her day to-day-life. Apart from correspondence with Howard Ashton and Henrietta Gulliver over a number of years, there is little in the way of correspondence between Nicholas and other artists. Other correspondents include Will Ashton, Dion Boucicault, John Galsworthy, Bernard Hall, John Masefield, Charles Masson, William Moore, Mary Raphael and Dorothy Richmond.

Dillaway; a letter of thanks from lawyer LL Davies about the Oombulgurri Defence campaign; a letter from Tella Freeman, to Christine Williams written after the publication of the biography; three pages of notes on Chomsky and Chartism; and royalty statements and other financial records. The latest consignment, MS Acc23.117 comprises correspondence written by Elizabeth Harrower to Christine Williams. The collection includes 49 dated, and 19 undated letters, with one letter and one printed email written from Christine Williams to Elizabeth Harrower.

The papers include correspondence, 1908-1913, sketches and photographs of rock carvings from the Sydney area, maps, parliamentary reports, magazine articles and a box of lantern slides.There are a number of drafts of the book, manuscript, typescript, proofs etc. There are also pamphlets of papers presented before the Royal Society of New South Wales on the same subject, 1909-1911.This collection consists chiefly of materials collected for a book on Lope de Vega, the Spanish navigator who was separated in the Santa Isabel from the remains of Alvaro de Mendana's ill-starred colonizing expedition to the Solomon Islands in 1595. Hargrave's theory is that de Vega entered Port Jackson and claimed Australia as a Spanish possession, before being wrecked in Torres Strait.

These letters were written by Andrew Taylor to his family whilst he was at Scotch College, 1955-1957, University of Melbourne, 1958-1960, Puckapunyal Army Camp, 1959, and during his periods studying overseas in London, Rome, Florence, 1963-1965, Buffalo, New York, New Haven and San Francisco, 1970-1971 and 1974-1975. The collection also includes drafts of Taylor's poetry: Beyond silence, The invention of fire, Ice fishing, The cat's chin and ears: a bestiary, The drummer, Cool change, and Parabolas. There are notebooks kept during Taylor's visit to the United States in 1974-1975. Also, correspondence with Roger McDonald of Queensland University Press, 1970-1975. Also included are letters to Beate Haliol-Josephi, 1975-1976, "exacting parallel the writing of a love poem" The crystal absences, the trout (a love poem written during Beate's absence), and the first version of The crystal absences, the trout, completed on 3 March 1976.
